JJ Foodservice Gears Up to Support UK Care Homes

Updated: Feb 26

National wholesaler JJ Foodservice has expanded its sales team and product range to support the UK care homes sector.

Despite its core business being with the independent restaurant trade, the wholesaler says that the care home sector is in good growth and the business is well positioned to respond.

Group General Manager at JJ Food Service, Terry Larkin said, “The care homes sector is worth around £15.9 billion a year in the UK, with around 410,000 residents. As the population continues to age, demand for care will increase.”

The Office for National Statistics predicts a 36% growth in people aged more than 85 between 2015 and 2025*. This is expected to lead to a significant increase in demand for care home services.

JJ Food Service has an award-winning website and online ordering App, and delivers via state-of-the-art multi-temperature vehicles across eleven UK branches.

“We want to take the pressure off caterers by offering a range of healthy products, all competitively priced, for their residents,” said Terry.

JJ’s product range includes oven foods, fresh and frozen meats, fruits and vegetables, dried foods, sandwich fillings, condiments, desserts, disposables, hygiene and cleaning products. “We are bringing in even more products specifically for care homes over the coming months.”

“We also understand that care homes need dedicated support and our new Care Home Business Development Manager has specialist experience in this field”, he added.

The care home product range has been highlighted in the latest JJ Food Service product guide and a dedicated contact email has also been set up: carehomes@jjfoodservice.com
