Easy Cheesy – Five Ways with Mild Cheddar 🧀

Fed up of thinking about what’s for dinner tonight? Need inspiration that requires zero effort and maximum taste? Let us help!

Our team have put together five simple recipes to use with JJ Mild Cheddar, which is on offer this week (June 14-21).

The best part? They can all be prepared in less than 15 minutes, winner!

Easy Pizza Tortillas

Even a novice cook can master the art of pizza with this amazingly easy yet surprisingly delicious recipe

What you need (per pizza)

  1. Tortilla wrap

  2. Tablespoon of tomato puree

  3. Handful of JJ mild grated cheddar

  4. Your favourite pizza toppings

What to do

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees (fan)

  2. Spread a thin layer of puree on the wrap

  3. Add cheese and toppings, plus a drizzle of olive oil

  4. Cook for 6 minutes, remove, slice and enjoy!

TOP TIP: Add fresh rocket, parmesan and extra virgin olive oil on top to take your pizza to the next level

Simple Crispy Quesadilla

This simplified version of a gooey, Mexican cheese-filled tortilla is quick, tasty and guaranteed to satisfy

What you need (per person)

  1. 2 x tortilla wraps

  2. Handful of JJ mild cheddar, grated

  3. Red or yellow peppers, thinly sliced

  4. Optional – cooked chicken, ham, avocado

What do to

  1. Warm one tortilla in a pan with a little oil

  2. Add the cheese, peppers and other ingredients you’d like to use

  3. Place a second tortilla on top, warm through, and flip

  4. When the cheese has fully melted, remove, slice and serve

TOP TIP: Don’t add too much filling – it’s a quesadilla not a quiche

All-Day Croissaint

Who said Croissants are just for breakfast? Nonsense! We love them for lunch and a light dinners too

What you need

  1. Fresh croissant

  2. JJ mild cheddar, sliced

  3. Fresh sliced tomato

  4. Fresh spinach leaves

  5. Anything else you fancy!

What to do

Slice, assemble and enjoy! Perfect for picnics.

TOP TIP: Warm the croissiant before filling to make it extra indulgent

Cheap and Cheesy Pasta

It’s the end of the month, funds a low but appetites are high! Try this low-cost, filling and nutritious dish to keep the whole family content

What you need (per person)

  1. Handful of JJ mild cheddar, grated

  2. Nob of butter

  3. 60g pasta per person

  4. Handful of broccoli, boiled, drained and diced into smaller pieces

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta and drain

  2. Add cheese, nob of butter, broccoli

  3. Stir through until cheese has melted and broccoli has broken

TOP TIP: Add the butter and cheese while the pasta is piping hot

Running low on ideas for snacks? Cheese cubes are calcium-rich, filling and versatile. Here’s a few ways to enjoy them…

  1. With a handful cherry tomatoes

  2. In a hearty Ploughman’s salad

  3. On fruit and cheese skewers
