Driving Sales With Gluten-Free

To be gluten-free or not to be gluten-free? That is the question that many caterers have been asking themselves as consumers demand more choice. It is not an easy decision to make, after all, not every kitchen has the space for a dedicated gluten-free fryer. Will it deliver a worthwhile return?

There’s no denying the facts: the gluten-free market in the UK is worth more than £355m and is expected to hit £519m by 2016. We’ve seen a huge increase in demand for gluten-free lines from our customers. If you ask us, it’s not a trend that’s going away.

One customer that has had fantastic success with gluten-free is ‘The Orchard’ restaurant and bar. Located on the doorstep of a popular Bedfordshire Spa, the business has its own dedicated gluten-free menu, which has grown to be almost as big as the regular menu. It has even been promoted on the Coeliac Society’s website.
