Thousands of pounds worth of toiletries and groceries were donated to the Welcome Centre in Huddersfield by our Manchester team as part of the JJ Helping Hand program.
A generous donation of over 200 Helping Hand Packs were individually prepared by the Manchester team and shared with Fare Share Yorkshire in Huddersfield.
They were then delivered to the Welcome Centre, a local charity that supplies food, toiletries, and other essentials to people in crisis.
Popcorn, biscuits, fruit juices....
Each packs contain a variety of branded and JJ own-brand products including kitchen supplies, cleaning products, popcorn, biscuits and fruit juices.
JJ's Helping Hand initiative began during the cost-of-living crisis to help families in need.
Umut Akkaya, Branch Manager for JJ Manchester said, “Christmas can be a challenging period for many people, and we felt incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to make a small difference. Our team is already responsible for providing ingredients to numerous schools in Kirklees Council, which made this initiative even more important to us.”
Jonathan Williams, Head of Development, Fare Share Yorkshire said, “We are grateful to JJ Manchester for their generous donation. Their support through the Helping Hand initiative is greatly appreciated and will make a meaningful difference in our community.”
FareShare Yorkshire re-distributes surplus and donated food to combat food poverty. In 2022, JJ aligned all branches with a local FareShare depot to help achieve zero waste.
