Restaurant website and app builder FOODit, a JJ Foodservice company, has announced extra support for takeaways to improve their food hygiene ratings. Head of Product at FOODit, Paul Sharp, said: “Having a good food hygiene rating is critical to customers – 68% of consumers* look at ratings when deciding where to eat.”
FOODit recently announced the winners of its Independent Takeaway Awards – all ten winners had a food hygiene ratings of five.
The FOODit team is working to help restaurants and takeaways to receive the information they need.
A new feature on the FOODit Order Manager app offers quick access to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines.
“We are using technology to give takeaways the support they need – not just with their websites – but in achieving and maintaining the highest food quality standards,” said Paul.
The support has been announced ahead of the expected change in regulations, which will make it compulsory for food outlets in the UK to display their food hygiene ratings.
